Carbon Trust launches world’s largest technology trial to create 3D wind maps for offshore wind farms

The Carbon Trust today announces the start of the world’s largest trial of scanning Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology which is taking place in Dublin Bay, Ireland. This is the latest Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) project designed to help reduce the cost of energy from offshore wind.

The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited (TRIG) announced the successful acquisition of its Initial Portfolio. TRIG’s investments now comprise 100% ownership of 18 operational wind and solar PV projects in the UK, Republic of Ireland and France. 15 of the projects were acquired from RES.

The Renewables Infrastructure Group Limited (TRIG), raised £300 million in the UK’s biggest initial public offering (IPO) of a clean-power company, to invest in solar and onshore wind projects.The proceeds from the share sale will be used to buy 14 onshore wind farms and 4 solar photovoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 276 megawatts in the U.K., France and Ireland.
